Infamously known as ‘poor man’s Ooty’, I’d rather call it ‘for those who are bugged of crowded and polluted hill stations like Ooty’. Amazingly crafted simple but very strong story by Aamir Khan… The movie is a rebuff on the whole Indian education system and the society which regards Doctors, Engineers, etc. as demigods and artists, poets’ profession as futile wastage of time. True, money is an important aspect no doubts but the former mentioned careers are not the only way to success and fame. Just because these are ‘safe careers’ who wants to venture on something new or take a risk of encouraging one’s child to become a painter? In the rat race for clinging on to anything which brings money, we have actually forgotten that to love the thing you do, you have to listen to your heart and not mind. This realization does come. Sometimes luckily sooner, sometimes unfortunately later.
