Now economists are arguing intriducing a new term ,Eagles , Emerging and Growth Leading Economies that would include countries like South Koria, indonesia, Turket, Egypt, Taiwan along with the BRIC countires.

The economists beleive that going forward, the Eagle countries would contribute to half of world growth in the next decade. They believe that these countries would contribute to over $10 trillion in the next 10 years whereas the joint growth provided by Japan , britain, Germany, France and Italty would be close to be estimated at $6 trillion.

As we all know India is developing country and there are few sectors which are onboom like IT sector, health industry,BPO etc.Despite global recession last year IT industry in India was not that badly hit as of US, or other western countries. Now as said global recession is over and IT is again recovering faster. Companies quarter results are getting better and healthier. Though US market is still recovering we can take chill pill that Indian market has lot of jobs in this current scenario. All these thing also leads to one factorwhich bother HR policy to retain work culture lively and retain employee satisfaction at any cost. Off course despite tight work schedule and deadlines small events and functions adds refreshments to employee enthusiasm and day to day mundane life. As Diwali celebrations are on peak many companies are organizing small events like best cubicle decoration competition in office, best costumes etc.Even the employee who are workaholic , they just ignore these events and stick to their system as these events are non of their business. But then when they see zeal and enthusiasm among other teams ,even they mingle with each other and celebrate.

And off course this is the great way for team bonding which is better for the company and employee both. Even we less agree but this is the fact that in India life is not that easy and in IT industry its damn not. But we Indians find happiness even in little things we do. Despite our tight work schedule which even HR people knows better, if they put a little effort to add refreshment in employees day to day life then that is really appreciable. Just today in my company a small event organized by HR and admin people. It was for best cubicle decoration and best costumes. Off course few teams were not initially enthusiastic about this event. But later on when they saw our team co-coordinating together for all decoration and costumes, then even they took a stand and participated with zeal in the event. That’s pretty cool. Off course you couldn’t see anybody working today but yes everybody enjoyed a lot. Thanks to HR and admin people for their generous efforts.

Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure, will also join tens of thousands of iconic buildings and landmarks from across the world.
It’s Showtime! Show what can be done.

This event has successfully created a brand which is at par with many cult brands like green peace. Apart from creating awareness, i believe, it can do what the UN and the local governments couldnt do.

how many think that csr is a waste? Coca-cola, the world’s largest beverages maker, should pay Rs 216 crore compensation for pollution and depleting groundwater, a Kerala government panel has said.
The nine-member committee, also recommended setting up of a tribunal and compensating the losses suffered by villagers in Plachimada, Palakkad district. The panel report, submitted to state water resources minister NK Premachandran in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, held that besides heavy withdrawal of ground water, the bottling plant run by Coca-Cola’s bottling arm, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, had “inflicted harm on the farming and environment in the area” by dumping solid waste.
Sludge from the plant, supplied to farmers as fertiliser, contained dangerous levels of cadmium and lead, says the report, breaking up the damages into losses incurred under various heads between 1999 and 2004. While agricultural loss is pegged at Rs 84.16 crore, pollution of water resources is at Rs 62 crore, the cost of providing water is at Rs 20 crore, the damage to health at Rs 30 crore while wage loss and opportunity cost is at Rs 20 crore.
The plant was shut six years ago after protests against the company.
Coca-Cola, however, rejected the report. “It is unfortunate that the committee in Kerala was appointed on the unproven assumption that damage was caused and that it was caused by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages,” a Coca-Cola spokesman said.
Rival beverages company PepsiCo has also come under fire in the state over water consumption by its plant, also in Palakkad district. Last week, a Kerala assembly panel had said the company should cut down the use of water by 60% at its bottling plant at Puducheri.
Denying the charges, a PepsiCo spokesman had said: “Palakkad is a model plant and is one of the most water efficient units in the PepsiCo system.”

In a not so surprising report, by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), US was named as the biggest exporter of weapons in the entire world. Guess who was the biggest importer? No prizes…it is China followed by India. US exports 30% of the entire world export.
The volume of imports by India and Pakistan is increasing steadily and is expected to rise for another five to ten years until they agree an a permanent solutions.
The SIPRI said combat aircraft accounted for 27 per cent of the volume of international arms transfers during 2005-2009. Orders and deliveries of these potentially destabilizing weapon systems have led to arms race concerns in the following regions of tension: the Middle East, North Africa, South America, South Asia and South East Asia. Leading peace activists are finding it difficult to control this hike in weapon transaction in spite of well established protocols and platforms for discussion. It is just like a prisoner’s dilemma! Country ‘A’ buys weapons to become stronger than ‘B’ and vice verse. Thus increasing the expenditure for both. This is because the cost of not being strong enough to counter the opponents attack is much more than spending to become strong. However, if both do not spend, both can survive without defense expenditure.Wow! so simple and yet so difficult to implement!

Hurt Locker which earned less than 2% of Avatar’s box collection, won six Oscars compared to three by Avatar. Avatar was a movie based on the theme of human greed which could someday make the environment unlivable. On the contrary, Hurt Locker was a movie based on Iraq, bombs and army. Avatar was one of the biggest 3D movies ever made and it has revolutionized the way movies are made. Every screen of this movie is made using sophisticated technologies many of which was specially designed for this movie. Reviews all over the world indicated that Avatar will rule the Oscars but the result has disappointed many movie buffs all over the world, especially from the developing nations. People in these countries could relate to Pandora more than the bomb diffusion. Although Hurt Locker was more practical, people in developing nations prefer environment.

The largest developing country, China has pledged to improve the industrial efficiencies so as to grow sustainably for few more decades. Chinese officials, after doing a root cause analysis found that most of its fragmented industries were running under capacity because of high bargaining power with few large organizations. In a move to exploit rare and inimitable resources, China will try to consolidate the industrial sectors. It has be observed over the last century that big economies start with small companies but to sustain the growth, big is better.
The notice issued by the government is focused on electrical power, coal, steel and iron, cement, nonferrous metal, coking, paper making, leather making and dyeing and smoothed out policies and schedules on how to wash out industrial overcapacity in 2010-11. In order to force industries to cut over capacity, the government will charge extra tax on utilities and it is also planning to levy environment tax on companies not abiding. This move makes it clear that the growth in China is here to stay and it is not just a coincidence!

These products are mildly correlated to the consumption and economic conditions of the consuming country. China, the biggest developing country of the world has surpassed US to become the second largest consumer of luxury products. It now consumes 27.5% of the worlds luxury goods. This reflects the economic power of this mighty country. Currently, the largest consumer is Japan.
Most of the luxury goods bought are western products just because China in itself does not have any big luxury brands. In-spite of having products like Maotai, Wuliangye and Shuijingfang; fashion labels like Septwolves, Baoxiniao, Bosideng and Yongzheng; and jewelry labels like Dongfangjinyu and Nobel Jewelry which are extraordinarily priced, the demand for western luxury brands is more because of the historical connection and their global recognition.
Thus, luxury is not only about price but also about BRAND!

In a dramatic move, US officials are planning to reduce the nuclear warheads drastically. As a member of nuclear non-proliferation treaty, this move will help US promote its image as one who walks the talk. What calculations have gone behind this?
From the estimated warhead distribution around the world we see that Asia has much larger number of warheads compared to other regions. However if US is seriously going ahead with this strategy, one day we would see all developing economies invest on poverty reduction rather than military development.

OneWorld is one of the world’s three largest global alliances of airlines. It was formed in 1999 by American Airlines, British Airways, Canadian Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Qantas Airways. It was formed with a vision to generate more value to customers than any airline could do alone. Together they have more than 2200 aircraft and service more than 720 destinations in 142 countries.
How do they create value for the customers?
The group members have set operations and maintenance standards which help each member to provide the best services in its region. Oneworld was also the first alliance to introduce interline e-ticketing which gave travelers reach out the remotest of places without any hassle. Apart from this the every customer of this alliance have access to the airport lounges of any member airline. This optimizes the capacity utilization of private lounges and increase the ROI for airlines. This was one of the main reason for which the member airlines experienced minimum loss compared to others during the recent financial crisis.
Recently, Vijay Mallya lead Kingfisher Airlines has signed a memorandum to join this alliance. Post which it will become the first Indian company to join this alliance. Earlier Kingfisher bought Deccan Airlines to end the price war in India but still the airlines industry in India is facing substantial losses. However, this move of Kingfisher might help this airline create more value for its customers and the shareholders.
