Here are some really cool addons to enhance your Google Mail from GreaseMonkey.These plugins are mostly meant for Firefox but some of them also work with IE. Once installed , your Gmail account should look something like this.
To install these addons, you need to install the GreaseMonkey Plugins. It’s a pretty small download which gives you access to install thousands of addons to enhance your website experience. All you need to do is go to GreaseMonkey plugins site and click the image “Add to Firefox” .Now click the “Install Now “button which appears in the popup. You probably need to restart Firefox for the plugin to take effect.
Now here are some addons compatible with grease monkey for Gmail.
- Google Addons and RSS Reader : This would add an RSS reader and also the basic Addons for Gmail . This must be installed if you want to install the other plugins. Click here to install and read the steps as mentioned below.
- Add RSS reader, calendar, and other tools: In case you want to add and RSS reader to your Gmail Account and read all the feeds in your Mailbox, install this addons. Click here to download.
Steps :
Here are the 3 steps you need to follow:
- Once you have installed Greased monkey (mentioned above ) , click here to add Google Addons.
- On userscript.org, you would see a black button on the right side which says “Install this script”. Click on this button. You would see a popup labeled “Greased Monkey”. Click on “Install”. That’s it.
- Now open your Gmail account. You should see the following links in black at your top left side of the window: Chat, Calendar. This means these links have been integrated with your Gmail Account and would be displayed in the same page. Click on any of these links.
Incase you don’t see these links in” Black”, This means that you need to do one more additional step.
Here’s what you need to do.
- Go to your GreaseMonkey Settings. You can do this by clicking on Tools -> and Select “GreaseMonkey” and select “Manage User Scripts”.
- A window will popup. Here in the “Included Pages “Section, select “Add”. Now copy and paste this in Add Page and click ok https://mail.google.com/mail/*
- Close this window and refresh your Gmail Account. You should see these links in Black and clicking on them will open these links in the same window.
