Supporting the needy to become self dependent by means of education, is one of the most effective ways to increase the quality of life and Infosys Technologies practices it. Support in education to the needy is one of the many fields in which Infosys Foundation gives back to the society for a better tomorrow.
The reservation system for education in India targets the backward class people but not the economically backward people. However there are some NGOs like Prerna, doing the right job.
Note:The average annual per capita income of Indians is not even $1,000 compared to $40,000 of some developed countries.
Is this the answer to the reservations in education system of developing countries like India?
How to benefit from Prerna-NGO:
If you have come across any bright students coming from poor financial background who have finished their 10th standard this year (April 2009) and scored more than 80%,
please ask them to contact the NGO-Prerana (supported by Infosys foundation).
The NGO is conducting a written test and those who clear the test will be eligible for financial help for their further studies.
