Pakistani President Musharraf resigns – Whats his future now ?

After months of pressure, finally Pakistani President Musharraf has resigned. Musharraf has been in power for almost 9 years since his arrival when the country was in a crisis. He grabbed power in 1999 when President Nawaz Sharif had dismissed him when he was a military chief. What’s more that Sharif  even disallowed a commercial airline to land a 200 passenger plane carrying Musarraf also. Amidst the chaos, the military came into action and finally the plane landed with only a few minutes of gas left. That’s when Musharraf’s reign began.

Among his good deeds are his alliances with the US to drive out terrorism and helping US remove Fundamentalist Islamic Movement. US also helped Musharraf funding him with millions for this mission.
But during the past few months, Musharraf faced major challenges from all conners after he dismissed Supreme Court Justice, Iftikhar Chaudhry. This caused a lot of anger and protests. Finally Iftikhar was reinstated but not without major damage done. Also with the assignation of her old rival Benazir Bhutto, more accusations of Musharraf’s involvement made rounds.
Now the only thing that Musharraf has been told is that he would be allowed safe passage out of the country.
